The church of LDS: the one and true church of Jesus?

joseph smith was confused to follow which christian denomination, God told him to make a new one, with a new book.

smith claims his church is the one true church.

now, what happens when someone decides to interpret the book of mormon a different way than what is taught in LDS church? someone like the martin luther of mormons? won't then there be denominations of the LDS church?

is an unending branching treeThe church of LDS: the one and true church of Jesus?
It is true that some will follow a book without following the principles in the book. Happens a lot with the Bible too.The church of LDS: the one and true church of Jesus?
There was some guy in UT that was developing a book of mormon code liek the bible code, I don;t know whatever happened to him, it was weird.

Bible codes, originally known as Torah codes, are information patterns said to exist in encrypted or coded form in the text of the Bible, or, more specifically, in the Hebrew Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament. The existence of these codes has been a topic of research by Old Testament scholars and students of Kabbalah for over a thousand years, and in more recent times have been a topic of study by modern mathematicians. In the mid-17th century influential mathematician Blaise Pascal, widely regarded as the ';father of probability science'; and ';father of the modern computer'; summarized his view in a one sentence assertion in his philosophical Pens茅es, concluding that ';The Old Testament is a cipher.';
Friend ,there is some confusion in you data on the subject of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

He wasn't told to make a new church ,but restore the original church of Jesus Christ.

We also believe the bible to be the word of God ,as far as it translated correctly,we also believe the book of Mormon to be the word of God.

As to someone interpreting the book of Mormon to read different to what it says ,no one has done so yet, that's probably because we have all received a witness for ourselves ,that its true.

God bless.
hasn't happened yet so i doubt it ever will.

go to www.thearda.com and look up the lds. There are no branches, unlike all of the other churches.

hey, there is robgel again believing in UFO's and preaching from exmormon.org. Interesting fella. Hello robgel.
Yes, there are many schisms of Mormonism, Reorganised morg, Fundamentalists, etc.
That's what the RLDS, FLDS, Community of Christ, Church of the Temple Lot of Christ, and quite a few others are.
LDS is NOT a christian Church......that church does not have christian beliefs.
Go read the book of Mormon for yourself then come back
No - because it's not about the teachings within a book.

Although the gospel of Christ is found within the Book of Mormon - there are other things which had to be restored, namely: the priesthood of God. The Aaronic priesthood was restored by John the Baptist to Joseph and a later that spring the Melchizedek priesthood was restored through Peter, James %26amp; John. 68 We still continued the work of translation, when, in the ensuing month (May, 1829), we on a certain day went into the woods to pray and inquire of the Lord respecting abaptism for the bremission of sins, that we found mentioned in the translation of the plates. While we were thus employed, praying and calling upon the Lord, a messenger from heaven descended in a ccloud of light, and having laid his dhands upon us, he eordained us, saying:

69 Upon you my fellow servants, in the name of Messiah, I confer the aPriesthood of bAaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of cbaptism by immersion for the remission of sins; and this shall never be taken again from the earth until the sons of dLevi do offer again an offering unto the Lord in erighteousness.

70 He said this Aaronic Priesthood had not the power of laying on hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, but that this should be conferred on us hereafter; and he commanded us to go and be baptized, and gave us directions that I should baptize Oliver Cowdery, and that afterwards he should baptize me.

71 Accordingly we went and were baptized. I abaptized him first, and afterwards he baptized me鈥攁fter which I laid my hands upon his head and ordained him to the Aaronic Priesthood, and afterwards he laid his hands on me and ordained me to the same Priesthood鈥攆or so we were commanded.*

72 The amessenger who visited us on this occasion and conferred this Priesthood upon us, said that his name was John, the same that is called bJohn the Baptist in the New Testament, and that he acted under the direction of cPeter, James and John, who held the keys of the Priesthood of Melchizedek, which Priesthood, he said, would in due time be conferred on us, and that I should be called the first dElder of the Church, and he (Oliver Cowdery) the second. It was on the fifteenth day of May, 1829, that we were ordained under the hand of this messenger, and baptized.

73 Immediately on our coming up out of the water after we had been baptized, we experienced great and glorious blessings from our Heavenly Father.
