Mormons, is that true that for you Jesus was not a God? Was he the son of God? If yes, in what way?

Jesus IS the Son of God. He is our Lord, our Savior and our Redeemer. Mormons do not, however, believe that God and Jesus are the same person, only that they are 'one' in purpose.

EDIT: Why'd I get thumbs down for accurately answering the question? If you don't like the beliefs that's fine, but I gave an honest response.Mormons, is that true that for you Jesus was not a God? Was he the son of God? If yes, in what way?
I am glad you had your answer with the votes ! There was no explanation for these thumbs down. Thanks a lot !

lets break it down like this

my name is tia, im a sister, im a mother, and im a daughter

does that make me 3 different persons? no it gives me 3 different titles, but i am still just the one person.

In that same way Jesus is God the father, son and holy spirit, all in one.

Jesus is not a God, Jesus IS God. biiiig difference!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 1:1

the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...John 1:14
why for what

this is knowledge gathering forum.

in what way it help the forum.

it is better keep the religion within our house.
I feel like I just answered this.

Jesus was not God. He was the son of God born of God as both spirit first and then flesh when he came down to this earth.

We do believe that Jesus is a God. We dont believe that he is OUR God that we worship as God and call our Heavenly Father.
That's the Baptists and Scientologists, you better check your sources.
God is our Heavenly Father. Jesus was His only begotten Son in the flesh, which makes Him a god, but not the same as Heavenly Father. It's hard to explain, but they are two different persons. We worship Heavenly Father, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is God

Jesus created the heavens and the Earth. God created the heavens and the earth. Jesus is God.

Jesus is the second member of the Godhead. Jesus is God.

Now there is God the Father to whom we pray and to whom Jesus gives all the glory to for His actions. God the Father directs all the Jesus did and all that He will do. Jesus gives all glory to the Father and does nothing but what the Father commands. Jesus prayed to the Father as should we. Jesus stands on the right hand side of the Father as Stephen saw. So yes they are 2 separate beings one in purpose. This does not negate that Jesus is God.

Jesus is the Father because of Creation. Jesus is the Son because of His birth, the Son of God and Mary (a virgin birth). Jesus is the Savior because of His atonement.
