How many people think that Jesus's Crucifiction was a true sacrifice..?

Did he not know he was the son of God, and what he stood to inherit...Lets get real, If someone offered you a million dollars to cut off a finger, wouldnt you do it..?

What I am getting at is...He performed miracles, he had proof..So, what kind of leap of faith was it for him? It wasnt..

If I told you that I would give you 10 million dollars to jump off a bridge, and you had a pretty good Idea you would only break a leg....Dont you think you would do it...?

I think the faith in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the overall crippling part of this religion..Come on what a joke...How many people think that Jesus's Crucifiction was a true sacrifice..?
I think that Jesus was a cult leader who was executed and decided to turn that execution into martyrdom to advance his own cause. He didn't perform any miracles, he was not the son of God. He was either lying or mistaken, and that is why he was crucified. That so many people worship someone who wasn't much more than a rabble-rouser is a mystery to me.

VLRHow many people think that Jesus's Crucifiction was a true sacrifice..?
He still had to endure the incredible suffering and torture of the cross.

I doubt if you could even come close to enduring such pain no matter what the reward...

Go see the movie, 'the Passion';. Maybe you wil get it.....maybe.
What exactly are you looking for here?

I wouldn't take a million to cut off my finger, and I wouldn't jump off a bridge for you either.

Jesus became the perfect sacrifice because He knew that there could be no reconciliation between man and God without it - end of story

blessings :)
do my spin. Jesus was a Jewish mystic,did mystical practices such as concentrated prayer,contemplation,meditation. so he experienced his oneness with the Divine Mystery.he was capable of seeing the future(among other powers) and could see his impending death and he just Surrendered to what was going to happen. that's his message,surrender to what's happening, you're not in charge./also, this is very common for mystics from all religions.they frequently know when they are going to die and totally accept it
I'm sorry, please forgive me, but who exactly is this ';Jesus'; character that you people seem to keep wondering about?
one problem with your comparisons.... none of them involve giving up your life. not only did he die he died an extremely painful death that was used for murderers. so, to rephrase your analogies, would you die hanging on a cross for a million dollars??
Of course it was a true sacrifice. It was the ultimate sacrifice. It was an infinite sacrifice in the sense that to be forgiven all one needs to do is repent. There is no necessity for another sacrifice since this sacrifice was done by the God of heaven and earth. This was the final sacrifice for all of mankind. Through this infinite Atonement we can be resurrected and made clean to enter the presence of our Heavenly Father and live forever with our families.

Jesus Christ suffered so much, by taking our sins upon himself that blood oozed from His every pore. He experienced all of our infirmities, sicknesses, and pains...let alone all of our sins. The pain was so terrible that He almost chickened out! ';Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me';.... But He continued in faith, ';Nevertheless not my will, but thine be done!'; He drank the dregs of a bitter cup and suffered beyond our finite comprehension. He lived as the 3 year old Suzie who was molested and murdered. He experienced the pains of the alcoholic. He felt your pain as well. All of it. He knows you inside and out. He knows how to succor you in time of need. He suffered for all that He would be in all and through all the light of life. He suffered for us that his bowels would be full of mercy and He would know how to succor us according to our infirmities.
It is my faith in Him that counts, not His. He is God, and had it planned from the beginning.
Dude you are hurting, your theology is all messed up.
i do believe that Jesus made a sacrifice...everything was meant and destined to happen...he can have used of his powers but He didnt because everything was planned..
Jesus never existed, the whole story is only a myth.
Yes, it was and you missed the entire point, that it was God's redemptive plan to reconcile his sinful creation back to fellowship with Him.

This is the grace of God, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound;

That saved a wretch like me;

I once was lost, but now I'm found;

Was blind, but now I see.
Yes it was. Sin is never going to be separating you from God in eternity. Jesus took care of that. If you believe in it, and you accept this gift, you are going to be saved. But you have a free will, and with all kind of choices here, it can be interesting.

Offer is for you too, but you do not have to take it. : )
I think the real sacrifice is that he came back.

Think about it, his fan club turned on him and his friends abandoned him in his time of need. Any normal person would have looked back at the people and said, ';Screw them!';

But he did come back, and not to chew them out either, but to say ';Peace be with you.';

I would say he bit the bullet at that time.
YES.
Everything Jesus did was by faith; the same faith we have to exercise. Your example about cutting off the finger for a million; that takes faith also, that you would get the million. It takes faith to believe in God, and it takes faith to disbelieve in God. We all live by faith every day. You get in your car and drive to work, that takes faith to believe you will make it.
