For True Believers in Jesus Christ?

Hi, I won't get too much into detail. But I am a 20 year old college student and I have been attending this Pentecostal church in my area. (Love it soooo much) So I have totally surrendered my life to God repented, baptised in Jesus name and now I am really really seeking to recieve the Holy Ghost with the evidence of tongues (ACTS 2:38 in Holy Bible) so my question is ........will you please pray for me? This is truly my heart's number 1 desire!!!! Thanks. For True Believers in Jesus Christ?
If it is your number one desire, you will receive it!I have been Apostolic all of my life and I love it!Would not trade it for anything!I will definetly pray for you to receive the Holy Ghost!(Please email me as soon as you can to let me know when you do)It is an experience you will never forget. Please do not listen to those who are not Apostolic. They have never experienced it,so they can't give you sound advice! You already know what you have felt in services and know it's real! For True Believers in Jesus Christ?
Tongues in the Bible translates to language:

纬位蠅蛡蟽蟽伪

glo虅ssa

gloce'-sah

Of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication a language (specifically one naturally unacquired): - tongue.

Paul explains it best:

1Co 14:1-33

If you are a true believer, the Holy Spirit is already with you.

Peace be with you.
Yes, I will. You seem to be on the right road, and we all need prayer in this day and age. The world situations aren't going to get better (except when the Anti-Christ ushers in the peace agreement for 7 years but only 3 1/2 years will be peaceful. Then everything turns for the worse the last half of this time). We need to be ready for anything to happen and that we are ready to face it with the help of God. If you believe in the Rapture, then you will see that if we are ready for Him, we need not worry about the future.
Sweetie please take ten short minutes and read this: (you will be blessed!)

The Holy Spirit On Pentecost

We have received a request from a person who seems to be an honest seeker of truth. I really don't know whether this was a man or woman; I honestly think it was a woman, but it doesn't really matter, does it? It's the question that interests us and so we are going to study the question. She asks why she can't seem to have the faith--or whatever it takes that others seem to have-- the faith that would enable her to speak in tongues as others do, and as the people did on the Day of Pentecost in Acts, chapter two. So, that is what our study is about today.
AMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Just wait, the Spirit will come! That's basically it. All you have to do is do what God says. Honestly, you might go through a little testing and stuff. God wants to see if you are forreal or not. And don't be surprised if you start getting attacked from the 'enemy.' When I first got saved all HELL broke loose. I thought I was Neo in the Matrix or the Rode Runner running from those Acmne thingys LOLLLLLLL....I KEPT getting attacked. But TRUST ME! God WILL have your back! there were times I thought I wasn't going to make it...it was just a thought....God helped me in impossible situations. It put faith in me. I will pray 4 you!
Yes, I'll pray for u.

Also, do not be bothered by ppl who call Apostolic Pentecostalism a cult. They are obviously ignorant of scripture, poor souls.

God bless!!
It sounds like you are in the ';apostolic pentecostal'; cult.

They lead people to eternal torment in hell. The doctrines they teach lead to eternal torment in hell.

They deny the Trinity, and they teach that salvation is by works like water baptism.

Get out of there, please!

The truth is that salvation is a free gift! Water baptism is not required for salvation. Water baptism cannot be added to Jesus's PERFECT salvation. Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus! It is impossible to lose or ';leave'; salvation (John 6:39-40, 1 John 5:13).

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Please pray now: ';Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!'; You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)
Be encouraged! The baptism with the Holy Spirit is for you today 鈥?http://www.jimfeeney.org/baptism-Holy-Sp鈥?/a>
Consider it done!
Sure, I'll pray for you.
you mean you believe that speaking in tongues is real....dont some faiths think its evil
Congratulations on your conversion. The only prayer that I can offer you is that you will study to show your self approved to God by rightly dividing the Scriptures.

My Pastor speaks in tongues and the church that I attend teaches that all of the gifts of the Spirit are still available to believers. http://www.alcf.net

But the idea that speaking in tongues is ';evidence'; of having received the Holy Spirit is a construct of taking historical passages, not teaching passages, and coming up with a doctrine that is not supported by those passages that actually teach about Spiritual gifts.

What sayeth the Scriptures?

1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

The book of Acts is a historical record. We can learn from it, but when you want to learn the specifics about being baptized in the Spirit you have to look to a passage like this one that was intended to teach Christians about that subject.

The Apostle Paul who spoke in tongues makes it clear that the Sprit gives gifts as He chooses and that not everyone has the same gifts. I know that the church you attend will say something like ';We're not saying that everyone has to have the 'gift' of speaking in tongues. Just that they have to show the 'evidence' of having received the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues';.

But the Bible doesn't say that people show that they've been born again by speaking in tongues. I know a Pastor in India named Zac Poonen who speaks in tongues and has planted 40 churches over there

http://www.cfcindia.com/web/mainpages/bo鈥?/a>

He preaches about people who claim to have been baptized in the Spirit because they had an ';experience'; of speaking in tongues, but they can't control their tongues in their native language when they are talking to their family members. He doubts that their ';gift'; of tongues came from the Holy Spirit and I know of quite a few people who sought the gift of tongues and ended up receiving a demonic counterfeit.

Here's the evidence of having received the Holy Spirit according to the Bible.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Having faith that endures, growing in holiness, being set apart from sin and the world system are the evidences of being born again. Not speaking in tongues.
What, pray tell, is a ';true believer in Jesus Christ';?
