I cant say im perfect but I have a burning passion for God and we just had a sermon series on being a disciple and making disciples.....I would say im better than I was in my relationship with God....yes im working on it and i feel i am.....
im sorry 4 a lot of the other comments u get....i wish this world would understand how awesome a relationship with God is.....Do you Prove to be a True Disciple of Jesus?
I liked the video and agree with what the pastor is saying. I am not so sure I could view it the way you seem to have with this question.
I would like to point out that anyone who walks with Jesus will not think of themselves as a true disciple. If I could be that good then I would not need Jesus. The focus is on the branch that does not remain in the vine. When I have managed to put together 24 hours without sinning I will worry about the trueness of my discipleship. The problem is that the closer I get to Christ, the more aware I become of my wretchedness. I am simply a sinner saved by grace who stumbles along trying to follow Jesus. If I do not stay connected to him then I will die.Do you Prove to be a True Disciple of Jesus?
To that guy, no, he'd call me unsaved.
Because I don't believe works are required for salvation, and I don't believe works are needed to ';prove'; salvation.
So you could say that he and I have two different paths of salvation. One one is right.
Ok, is God sending me a sign or something? Paul Washer keeps being brought to my attention. I thought I was one of few who even knew about him. This is getting weird. Washer does not seem to promote Lordship salvation, since he insists that we're saved by faith. He simply asks, ';How do you KNOW that you believe?'; to people whose actions don't back up their professed faith. It shocks people out of apathy. In fact, if it weren't for him, I would probably still be an atheist. I found a video of his months ago as an agnostic atheist and it changed my view.
Edit: CJ, I know that most of what Paul Washer talks about focuses on works. I agree with you that he focuses too much on this. However, he has made it a point in several sermons to say explicitly that we're saved by faith alone, and that works are evidence of that faith. I believe part of his strategy is to wake up people who profess to believe, but are really spiritual agnostics. In other words, Washer argues that if you were hit by something as big as Christ, there would be a huge change in your life. It's not whether or not you're acting ';good enough'; to be saved; he's asking, ';If you haven't had a change in your life and attitude toward sin, then is your faith true?';
Edit: No, CJ, it's looking for fruit. Jesus Himself told us to look for fruit. Did someone stop Him and say, ';But Jesus, if we look for good fruit to prove faith, aren't we following Lorship Salvation?';
no dude.
I've gone to catholic school all my life where they're constantly shoving religious beliefs down your throat, while calling the other religions hoaxes. Where is the love and equality Christ preached about, if his own ';disciples'; don't tolerate other beliefs?
Nope, I've no interest in any religion.
Godtube is good for an afternoon of laughter.
Why do christians always try to sell their religion.....kinda pathetic.
