My email is : Neverland_sleepdj@hotmail.comCan someone explain ';why Jesus is the one true god'; for me?
Greetings,
There is absolutely nothing in Ps.23 or Jn.10 which would cause someone to believe that Jesus is the “only one true God.” This would be a faulty conclusion that would contradict Christ’s own teachings.
Ps. 23 is a song addressed to the “Most High” God Jehovah as verse one clearly states: “Jehovah is my shepherd...” Some may be lead on a path of confusion about this because most common Bible translations have corrupted the inspired Word of God and removed the most important name, replacing it with the common title LORD. Such corruption of God’s word elicits the strongest of condemnation (Rev. 22:18,19) and leads to confusing the LORD God (Jehovah) and the Lord Jesus, his son.
John 10 does call Jesus the “good shepherd” but this does not mean that he is the same shepherd spoken of in Ps.23. Shepherd was a common title for all kings, even wicked non-believers’s kings (Jer 23:1-4; 50:6; Ps 78:70-72; Isa 44:28). It would be illogical to conclude that just because two individuals were the same entity just because they held the same title. If this reasoning were correct then all the other “shepherds” mentioned in the Bible would have to be the True God also.
Interestingly, the last two citations from Ps.78 and Isa.44 call David and Cyrus “shepherds” of God’s people. Both these individuals were symbols prefiguring Jesus. Just as they were appointed by Jehovah as His representatives in shepherding His people, so also Jesus was appointed by God as His representative. Jesus was not God, but was appointed by God to shepherd his sheep (Matt. 2:1-6; 15:24; Ezek 34:22, 23).
On the other hand, Jesus himself explicitly stated that his father was the “only True God” and excluded himself from being that “only True God”: ';And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (Jn.17:3).
The Greek grammar of John 17:3 is very clear. The distinction between the ';only true God'; and Jesus as ';the one whom you [God] sent'; explicitly excludes Jesus from being ';The True God.'; So, we see here two distinct beings, one is identified as the Father and “the only True God” and another who is “sent” by God and identified as His Son. This same demarcation between the Father as the only true God and Jesus is repeatedly made in Scripture (1Thes. 1:9, 10; 1Cor.8:6).
While Jesus is called “God” several times in the NT he is never placed equal to his God and Father. Jesus is called “God” in the same sense that angels and humans are called God (Ex.7:1, Ps.8:5; 82:1,6, Jn.10:34). In the Scriptures others are properly called ';God'; because it was just a title which meant you were somehow over others, usually as a representative of the Almighty God. This is shown by a simple examination of the definition of “God” in Bible dictionaries and lexicons”
Strongs: No. 0430 God, god, judge, mighty, angels. Definition: Rulers, judges, divine ones, angels.
BDB Hebrew lexicon: ';a. rulers, judges, either as divine representatives at sacred places or as reflecting divine majesty and power. b. divine ones, superhuman beings including God and angels.';
When Jesus called his Father the “only” True God, he was not saying that these other representatives were “false” gods, since it was Jehovah himself who called these angels and humans “gods.” Jesus was showing that his God and Father was the only God in the absolute or ultimate sense; in a way that neither he nor these other “mighty one’s” were “God.”
The rest of John refutes the interpretation that Jesus is equal to The Only True Almighty God. John states that Jesus is less than God (14:28) and that he has a God over him (20:17). Jesus must always be *given* power or authority! (Mt.28:18; 11:27, Jn. 5:22,25,26; 17:2; 3:35; 2Pet.1:17). He could not do anything on his own (Jn. 5:19; 6:38). He was ';sent'; by a superior ';God'; and Father, he did not come of his own accord (Jn.8:16,29,42; 8:54). Jesus said himself the sender is superior to the one sent (Jn.13:16). (The Bible speaks of Jesus having a God over him at least 17 times even after he returned to heaven!)
Explicit scriptures show that Jesus was less than Almighty God at every point of his existence (Jn. 14:28; 20:17; Mk.13:32; 1Cor.15:27,28; Rev.3:2,12). At the highest position he will ever attain, Jesus is still ';subject'; to *GOD* the same way we are ';subject'; to him. Jesus cannot be The Only True Almighty God.
So any comparison of Psalm 23 and John 10 cannot lead to the conclusion that Jesus is the “only True God.”
Hope that helps,

Bkoz jeezus whuped mohamed in a fistfighht in the dessdert and both beat the crap out of each other and then became obrothers and loved eached other. But then jesus and Allah had a talk and Allha tried to strike him down with a golden skimitar and Jesus was armed with the silver sword of john the baptist. Of course sparks flew. What did you imagine? Polite conversation over tea? WHen gods clash they do so with determination and the outcome is nothing less than charred and glowing bits of holy bone and flesh arcing through the sky and even out to the nebula. Outo f this chaos came jesus with a gin martini in hand and a saville rowe smoking suit. and by the way, it was the Mount on the Sermon, not the Sermon on the Mount that gave us the Jesus infaant who porparagated and we now live with millions of jesus descentadants who are busy beating the trasht out of the mohammendans.
because, he created earth and it would be a sin not to look at him as your only true god. that is what it means. but honestly, i can't say he is everyone's true god, decide that for yourself. please answer mine, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…
